Project
Free copies

Within the project “Promotion of Norwegian children's literature in Poland” we have distributed among public libraries and organizations responsible for children’s education two exemplary copies (2000 pieces each) free of charge: Do you think daddy cries? by Hilde Ringen Kommedal, Heaven behind the house by Gaute Heivoll.

100 copies of each title were distributed to the Norwegian Institute of the Children's Book (Norsk barnebokinstitutt). The list of the biggest Polish libraries where you can find our books is available in the attachment at the bottom of the page.

Why we have chosen Norwegian literature?

We want to bring closer good examples which teach emotionally healthy behavior and pass on universal life values. A different country, different culture, different attitudes of children and adults teach tolerance, broaden horizons and wake up curiosity. An important purpose of our project is to exchange experiences and good practices between Poland and Norway. We are looking for verified ways which will help to stimulate children to reading and will show that in books for children it is possible to speak about difficult subjects such as old age, passing, fear or death of the family member in easy and understandable way.

An easy and simple language devoid of moralization is characteristic for Norwegian children's fiction. The plot and the type of narration convince both children and parents. Modern graphic material has a high artistic value.

We wish you took a closer look on them.
